IPTV Installation Guide — quick, device-by-device (and safe)

Before we begin: many IPTV services may be unlicensed. Only use services you trust and that are legal in your country. If you’re using a paid provider, get credentials (M3U URL or username/password with Xtream API) from them. I’ll show how to install popular IPTV players and how to add a playlist or account.

1) Android phone / Android TV / Nvidia Shield

Best apps: TiviMate (Android TV only), IPTV Smarters/Pro (mobile + TV), VLC (simple), Perfect Player.

TiviMate (Android TV / Shield / Fire TV with Google Play)

  1. Open Google Play on your Android TV device.

  2. Search TiviMate → Install (free to add playlist; Premium unlocks EPG/recording features).

  3. Open TiviMate → Add playlist → choose Enter URL → paste your M3U URL (or choose Xtream and enter credentials if your provider gave them).

  4. Wait while channel list & EPG load. Arrange/refresh as needed.

IPTV Smarters (mobile + Android TV)

  1. Install IPTV Smarters from Google Play or APK from vendor (use Play Store when possible).

  2. Open app → Add User → choose Load Your Playlist or File/URL or Xtream Codes API.

  3. Paste M3U URL or enter username/password + server URL.

  4. Channels appear under Live TV / VOD.

VLC (for quick test)

  1. Install VLC from Google Play.

  2. Menu → Stream → paste M3U URL → play.

2) Amazon Fire TV / FireStick

Note: Fire TV doesn’t have TiviMate in Appstore (officially), but you can sideload apps or use IPTV apps available in Amazon Store.

Install via Amazon Appstore

  1. Search Downloader in the Amazon Appstore and install it.

  2. Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → enable Apps from Unknown Sources for Downloader.

  3. Open Downloader → enter the APK URL provided by the IPTV app developer (only trusted sources).

  4. Download & install the IPTV app (e.g., IPTV Smarters APK or TiviMate APK if compatible).

  5. Launch app and add M3U or Xtream credentials.

Alternative: Use apps available in Appstore (e.g., Smart IPTV if present)

  1. Install from Appstore → open → add playlist (same M3U/Xtream steps).

3) Windows / macOS PC

Apps: VLC, Kodi, IPTV Smarters (Windows), PotPlayer (Windows).

VLC (Windows/macOS)

  1. Install VLC.

  2. Media → Open Network Stream → paste M3U URL → Play.

Kodi (full featured)

  1. Install Kodi.

  2. Add-on → Install from repository → Video add-ons → search IPTV Simple Client or PVR IPTV Simple Client.

  3. Configure it: General → Location = Remote Path (Internet) → paste M3U URL.

  4. Enable the add-on; channels will appear under TV.

 

4) Smart TV (Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS)

  • Native app availability varies. Smart IPTV and SS IPTV sometimes available on app stores.

  • If no native app, use a streaming box (Android TV, FireStick) or cast from phone using Chromecast.

Example: Smart IPTV (if available)

  1. Install Smart IPTV from the TV app store.

  2. Open app → note your TV’s MAC address.

  3. On the Smart IPTV website, upload your M3U link tied to that MAC (follow their site instructions).

  4. Restart the app on TV; channels should load.

🖥️ 5) PC & Mac (VLC or Kodi)

VLC Media Player

  1. Download VLC: https://www.videolan.org/vlc

  2. Open VLC → click Media → Open Network Stream

  3. Paste your M3U URL → Click Play

  4. Use View > Playlist (Ctrl+L) to see channel list.

➤ Kodi (PC/Mac/Android)

  1. Install Kodi: https://kodi.tv/download

  2. Go to Add-ons > My Add-ons > PVR Clients

  3. Find and enable PVR IPTV Simple Client

  4. Open its settings:

    • General > M3U Playlist URL → paste M3U

    • (Optional) EPG Settings > paste XMLTV URL if provided

  5. Restart Kodi → Live TV tab appears.

6) Smart TV – Smart IPTV App

Note: Smart IPTV is paid (one-time activation ~€5.49 after trial).

  1. Install Smart IPTV from your TV’s App Store (Samsung, LG, etc.)

  2. Launch app → Note your TV’s MAC Address

  3. Go to: https://siptv.app/mylist/

  4. Enter your MAC + paste your M3U URL

  5. Click Send → Restart the app on your TV

7) Apple (iPhone / iPad)

Use IPTV Smarters or GSE Smart IPTV (from App Store)

IPTV Smarters:

  1. Install from App Store

  2. Open → Add User → Choose Xtream Codes API

  3. Enter:

    • Any name

    • Server URL

    • Username

    • Password

  4. Load channels

Android (Phone / Tablet / Android TV Box)

IPTV Smarters:

  1. Download from Play Store

  2. Add User → Choose Xtream or M3U

  3. Enter credentials → Load channels

TiviMate (for Android TV only):

  1. Download from Play Store

  2. Add Playlist → M3U URL or Xtream

  3. Done

MAG BOX (250/254/322/etc.)

  1. Go to Settings > Servers > Portals

  2. Portal 1 Name: Anything

  3. Portal 1 URL: (ask your provider — Xtream URL or MAG portal)

  4. Save + Reboot

  5. Device loads channels

📌 Make sure to give your MAC address to your provider:
Starts with 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx

Enigma2 BOX (e.g. VU+, Zgemma)

Method: Put M3U on box via FTP or use Xtream Plugin

Using Xtream Plugin:

  1. Install XtreamTV Plugin on your box

  2. Send your MAC to your IPTV provider

  3. They will activate your line

  4. Restart box → channels appear

Manual M3U upload:

  1. Connect via FTP (e.g., FileZilla)

  2. Upload M3U file to /etc/enigma2/

  3. Reboot box
